Registration and login are required to submit items online and to check the status of current submissions.


Author Guidelines

Eduvantage welcomes submissions from around the world of scholarly articles in the field of Business and Management, Finance and Accounting, Information Technology and Law

Eduvantage is composed of four sections:
  • the Research Articles section,
  • the Case Studies section and
  • the Analysis & Reports section
  • the Book and Media Reviews section.

General articles are submitted to an anonymous peer reviewing process to determine whether they will be accepted for publication in the Article section of the journal.

Papers published in the Research Article section are developed through a rigorous mentoring process before undergoing the journal's standard, anonymous refereeing process.

Review criteria

Articles will be subject to double blind review by a minimum of two peer reviews. The reviewers will assess each article against the following criteria:

  • The article content is consistent within the discipline of the journal.
  • The article is appropriate for the intended audience of the journal.
  • The article title is consistent with content.
  • The purpose is clear and focused.
  • The introduction raises interest.
  • The method of inquiry is consistent with purpose and academic genre of paper.
  • It exhibits valid, logical arguments/ meaningful discussion in relation to the body of knowledge.
  • The paper identifies significant ideas or findings that adds to what is known.
  • The conclusion is strong and consistent with the purpose, method and discussion.
  • Paper complies with format and length limit (see manuscript length below).
  • Referencing is complete and accurate.

The review process takes one to three months. Authors will be notified by email of the outcome of the process. Reviewers may give conditional acceptance of a paper, requesting authors to make changes. Such requests and authors’ responses are facilitated by editors to maintain author/peer reviewer anonymity.

Preparation of manuscripts

Papers should be in English.

The submission file is required in Microsoft Word or RTF document file format.

Submissions should use the MSWord template provided and use the styles in that template. Type or copy directly into the template.

The current template should be downloaded, the file is called Eduvantage template. Opening this file will give you an MSWord document with examples and short descriptions of the styles to be used for various paragraphs in your paper. If you are unfamiliar with the use of MSWord Templates and Styles, you may find the following document useful—Notes on using MSWord templates and styles. The Sample Eduvantage paper shows a few pages of a paper in the template layout.

Any information that might serve to identify the authors should be excluded from manuscripts submitted for review.

Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

  1. The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  2. The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, RTF, or WordPerfect document file format.
  3. Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  4. The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  5. The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines, which is found in About the Journal.
  6. If submitting to a peer-reviewed section of the journal, the instructions in Ensuring a Blind Review have been followed.

Eduvantage has chosen to apply the Creative Commons Attribution License (CCAL) to all articles we publish in this journal (click here to read the full-text legal code). Under the CCAL, authors retain ownership of the copyright for their article, but authors allow anyone to download, reuse, reprint, modify, distribute, and/or copy articles in Eduvantage , so long as the original authors and source are credited. This broad license was developed to facilitate open access to, and free use of, original works of all types. Applying this standard license to your work will ensure your right to make your work freely and openly available.

Summary of the Creative Commons Attribution License

You are free:
  • to copy, distribute, display, and perform the work
  • to make derivative works
  • to make commercial use of the work

under the following condition of Attribution: others must attribute the work if displayed on the web or stored in any electronic archive by making a link back to the website of the Journal via its Digital Object Identifier (DOI), or if published in other media by acknowledging prior publication in this Journal with a precise citation including the DOI. This journal utilizes the LOCKSS system to create a distributed archiving system among participating libraries and permits those libraries to create permanent archives of the journal for purposes of preservation and restoration.

The publisher perpetually authorizes participants in the LOCKSS system to archive and restore our publication through the LOCKSS System for the benefit of all LOCKSS System participants. Specifically participating libraries may:
  • Collect and preserve currently accessible materials;
  • Use material consistent with original license terms;
  • Provide copies to other LOCKSS appliances for purposes of audit and repair.
